John MacConnell

John MacConnell is an American figurative artist born in 1984 in the USA and based in New York. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and then his master's degree in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. He also studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and teaches at Long Island University as a professor. His work focuses on the interaction of people with contemporary life and culture. He works in a minimalist and refined style, close to a sketch, and regularly represents the bodies of naked men that he has frequented or places visited, streets or monuments. His work has been exhibited several times in New York as well as abroad in public and private exhibitions.
