Luz Sanchez is a Uruguayan artist. She has been loving art since she was conscious of its existence. Color and light guide her hands et her mind during creation. The biggest step in her professional life was her first exhibition. In 2015, she didn’t cease to exhibit, may it be in her country or internationally. Her personal aims are to keep being a part of the art world, learning and bettering herself and keep living from her work.

Graduated from medical school, she studied English in Cambridge’s university. Her artistic formation is mainly autodidact. When she turned to painting, she took courses in a workshop where she was taught how to draw living models and followed courses on contemporary painting and South-American painting. Her vocation as an artist was born when she painted during those courses. Her paintings were exposed in the workshop’s gallery. She is artist because, by painting, she can give beauty and joy.

In her opinion, the artist’s role is the betterment of the quality of life of the people watching art. It can also contribute to bettering the world, the environment or denouncing social injustices. Her artistic approach is humanist. It consists in giving and generating a better and fairer world. Her style is very diverse and always luminous, full of colors and of the reflection of her emotions.

Luz Sanchez mainly work with oil. She also uses pencil, aquarelle, acrylic and collage. She uses numerous mixt technics that can give so many possibilities of creation. She works mainly on small formats.

She was inspired by the Impressionists. She appreciates a lot some artists such as Picasso, Dali, Warhol and Vassily Kandinsky. She does not associate herself to any particular movement and her predilection subject is the human body.

She received the first prize in Art and decoration in Uruguay.
The artist lives and works in Montevideo, Uruguay.
