Philippe Sainte Fauste

Born in: 1949

Philippe Sainte Fauste was born in France in 1949.

After working in the start-up business and in advertising, he decided to dedicate himself to painting; he says with humor that he has always ?thought of being a painter, every morning when I was waking up?.

After taking a trip to Brazil, where he discovered religious icons and voodoo, Sainte Fauste starts a new series of paintings and aquarelles. Working with more precise brush strokes and subjects, he continues to reflect upon everyday events with an unique, sometimes black humor.

Sainte Fauste manifests his attachment to the reality of things, to the loneliness of beings in their own dreams, fantasies and obsessions. His precise observation of the world and his current aesthetic place Sainte Fause in close relation with New Subjectivism.
