Born in: 1992

France

The self-taught painter Laura Costa, creator of beautiful and eccentric colored canvases with abstract forms, has been practicing her talents since 2012 and settled in her studio located in Monteux (Vaucluse) in 2016.

Passionate about fiction, as a child, with her artist father, she develops and sketches her imagination and unconsciously indulges in fantastical drawings in the form of zentangles.

Her style develops over the years, thanks to the nature that has always fascinated her, her curiosity of everything pushes her to stage her personal mythology full of symbolism and vegetal, animal, anatomical metaphors…

A visceral energy supported by a strong and striking chromatic range, emanates from his bold contrasting compositions.

All his creations seem organic! Laura realizes the funds of her productions using the technique of pressureism. It then gives rise, in a real letting go, to ectoplasmic cellular forms totally delirious, acidically expressive, shocking, superimposing, mixing and interlocking with each other. His work exalts Life, where the notions of complementarity, opposition and fusion are strongly present.

Multiple secret representations are integrated into psychedelic motifs. What to be totally amazed at this chimerical and mutant mode, in perpetual motion, constantly evolving painting in paint !

It is enough to take the time to look, to observe, and to be caught by the whirlwind of contemplative pleasure to be able to cross the doors of this strange pictorial realm happy, abstract and flamboyant. A whole series of bizarre and phantasmagoric morphogenic microcosms are born under the action of his brushes but also thanks to his use of acrylic fingers and felts-painting. Cradled, transported, exalted by her musical post-rock or world music, during her creative process, Laura spontaneously offers spectators a unique hymn to the dream.

Her overflowing imagination tends to make visible fears and hidden wonders, while resolutely giving color to our lives.
