  • About the artwork

Mastering many techniques, Bruno lets his emotions guide him to the essentials. The subjects of his works are surrealistic and dreamlike, his paintings are a reflection of his artistic pursuit, which tends towards an ever greater attention towards color and matter.

Elements omnipresent in his works, the artist plays with tones and nuances in order to produce a singular resonance and thus create a living whole, rich and harmonious. His paintings, resolutely non-figurative, reflect a deep desire to go to the heart of the pictorial material to reveal its fundamental principles. His desire is to approach abstraction as closely as possible. To be only in color and matter, to free oneself from the line.

A daring and modern painter, Bruno voluntarily turns himself away from fashion and trends in order to give his art the freedom it needs to express itself unreservedly on the canvas and thus reveal its full potential, as much chromatic and pictorial as it is sensitive.

Bruno Decombe

Born in: 1967 France
Translation in progress

Tapissier, cabinetmaker, Bruno has gradually used the finesse of his fingering in music and then painting, understanding that the two were linked by the same vocabulary.

Self-taught since 2012, he works with knives and particularly likes to build in the straight line with unlimited imagination. He navigates in the mix of colors until the end of the journey and prints his vision of space and human.

"Architecture is for me a very buoyant element, most of my works are in verticality. A sign of grandeur but also of infinity in the positive or negative evolution of the human being. How far will it go? "

During his first collective exhibition in 2013, Bruno receives the prize for the most beautiful artwork and the following year the prize for the most beautiful set of paintings on display.

He now has thirty solo and collective exhibitions to his credit and more than 250 paintings made. In his workshop at Treffort-Cuisiat in Ain (France), this Lyonnais also manufactures the frames he designs for each of his paintings.

"Some of my paintings turn to a mystical spirit to see esoteric where I find calm and reflection. Gold leaf is inlaid. I love making these canvases, time space no longer exists!"

Present in private collections in France and abroad, his perspectives remain the large format ...
