David Flandrois

France Born in: 1977
David Flandrois is an artist passionate about the woman bodies that he reveals thanks to his oil pastels.

His neat work plays with shadows and light. For him, art is a vector to escape the cold and dark reality of society. The artist, precious guardian of the imagination. From these observations and in a need of dream and escape, to create his world and to share it becomes obvious.

The discovery of the tender and sensual touch of pastel oil allowed him to cross a door, to physically go to this world, to live his works. An inspiration drawn from the simple beauties of the real world. A pure place, a tree, a surprising encounter, a woman, an ephemeral moment of life are the backbone of a search for symbolic and abstractions. A dreamlike tone given by a personal play of colors and shapes.

A deep need for expression, freedom and discovery is also filled by instinctive work. Spontaneity as a motto. To let oneself go, to abandon oneself to the raw abstract and to go down as an adventurer in a world in creation.

Indignation at the ambivalence of this same reality, social pressure and compartmentalization, systemic injustice, politics cut off from its primary meaning, reinforces the need to express one's point of view.

Fix it on a canvas and take the spectator on the field of questioning and individual awareness that we can, despite everything, be a lever against this decline. An activist leadership, full of freedom and discoveries to a variety of artistic expressions that oil pastel will be the creative base.
