France Born in: 1962
Born in 1962 in the South West of France, Detine is a painter. She lives and works in the Midi-Pyrenees. She inherited a passion for all sorts of arts from her Italian origins. Her childhood was influenced by an artistic pluridisciplinarity, music, theater and painting... Detine has a visceral need for pictorial expression, especially for the color and design. From the beginning of her career, her pieces sketch the first traits she called "the scrapes of life". Her first figurative canvases were done with dry pastel which crystallizes her classical style.

Georges Mathieu's artistic work and that of Zao Wou Ki plays a main role in her work. By encountering the lyrical abstraction, Detine manages to quench her creative cathartic thirsts.

The dynamism of the artists' brush strokes resembles the boiling energy of his personality. A synergy added to a symbiosis, creating a unique universe, whose imprint is ostensible. The hand of Detine creates under the yoke of music, shaping this way a "pictorial and chromatic choreography" where the gesture represents the "visible" of his inner being. Music catalyses his emotions, immersing it completely, absorbing it and plunging it in his canvases. It moves away from a practice of intellectualization to avoid the premeditation of the guesture. With a meticulous treatment of color and of light, Detine adds an emotion through his purified shapes. By creating a unique piece, intimate and universal at the same time, the painter manages in weaving an irreparable link between the canvas and our being.
