Jean-Marie Marion

France Born in: 1947
After his Beaux-Arts studies, Jean-Marie Marion became interested in dance and worked with Carolyn Carlson and Maurice Béjart.

In the 80s, he became a top-model. Image of Biotherm, he stars in 194 TV commercials under the direction of Ridley Scott, Luc Besson, Claude Miller, Raymond Depardon or Joe Pytha.
But he also works as a photographer and produces numerous stories about various personalities for the press.

He is the author of 3 books “Aller simple pour la Pantagonie“ (One-way ticket to Patagonia), “Portraits de femmes“ (Portraits of women et “20 ans de photos sur Florent Pagny” (20 years of photographs of Florent Pagny).

“Jean-Marie Marion was a dancer and he still is one, because, today, he dances with the sky and the light, as light and fluid in its images as he used to be with his body and I remember how difficulty it was to get a shot of him when I photographed him!" says Jean-Louis Sieff.

"As some American Indians who change their language according to the season, Jean-Marie Marion makes his languages evolve, as a creative and nomadic artist" says Guesh Patti. "His photographs represent freedom, the femininity that they depict is irresistible. Perhaps thanks to this idea, so precious today: giving the right to choose to those that make it, as we choose our lives, and this is perhaps the greatest mystery of this book: what magic did Jean-Marie Marion do in order to manage to capture tenderness?" Marc Levy.
