Raluca Bararu

Born in: 1983

Romania

Raluca Bararu is a young Romanian illustrator and artistic director, born in 1983. For Raluca Bararu, these two occupations are very different. He works as an artistic director, mainly to make a living, on the other hand, he works as an illustrator mostly for pleasure. But he will never give up either of them. Water and the aquatic element, is a recurring pattern in Raluca Bararu's work. This pattern reflects, he says, a nightmare that every human being is familiar with, between incapacity and inadequacy. In his works, Raluca Bararu always places his characters in extreme or bizarre situations. As an artistic director, the artist always thinks about the "needs" of the spectator, and through these situations and his strange characters, he pushes the viewer to reflection.
