Artsper met Romain Colin, founder of Fubiz Media. Founded 12 years ago, the plateform identifies creative contents and diffuses works by creators and artists, of all kinds. It is an essential source to find inspiration ! This week, feed your imagination and your creative side thanks to Fubiz Talks during artists, architects, designers and other will share with you their creative approaches.

Artsper: What is your relationship to contemporary art?

Romain Colin: My relationship to contemporary art, I will say it's thanks to Fubiz. I receive a lot of content from museums, fairs, creators or galleries. Thanks to my position as a media, I feel very closed to this environment without working directly on it because I am often asked to create content or set up partnerships.

Artsper: What was the last exhibition that really impressed you?

Romain Colin: "Au Diapason du Monde" at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. I had the chance to see the exhibition the day before it opened to the public. I was challenged by it because there were several fairly generous works by Murakami, an artist I love very much.

Artsper: The work of art you would dream of owning?

Romain Colin: I would like to own a work by Kaws, either a lithograph or a sculpture.

Artsper: The artist you would like to spend an evening with?

Romain Colin: Virgil Abloh because he is at a crossroads. Otherwise Daniel Arsham and Murakami. I like collaborations and when art goes out of its category to other categories than art: music, street wear, lifestyle, fashion weeks.

Artsper: An artistic event that you try never to miss?

Romain Colin: Art Basel, I try to go there if I can and also special events, night events, concerts or music festivals... I really like events that are out of the ordinary and that are not classic openings.

Artsper: In your opinion, how important is creativity in our world today?

Romain Colin: According to me, it is of paramount importance. This is the editorial field I chose when I launched Fubiz 12 years ago. I wanted to talk only about creation, creativity, multidisciplinary artists and to be able to relay them, disseminate them, amplify them and more recently work with them, or make them speak on stage. I like the infinite richness of artistic disciplines and I like the evolution of the artistic milieu where artists are more and more multidisciplinary, they are at the same time DJ, photographer, sportsman.

Artsper: With the Fubiz Talks, what do you think we can learn from the artists?

Romain Colin: At Fubiz, we are really interested in the creative process. With Tetro, the co-creators of the event, we want to go behind the scenes of the artists and try to decode why an idea came like that and how a word or idea becomes a table, a chair, a lithograph, a clip, an ad, a film...

At the Fubiz Talks there will be really different artists and they are encouraged to find modern forms to explain their process and, if possible, to present to us for the first time something they have never said about their work, why they do it, how they do it, for what purpose and with whom.
