Alejandro Avakian

Argentina Born in: 1959

Born in Buenos Aires in 1959, Alejandro Avakian studied and taught painting in Argentina and has exhibited in both group and solo shows in Latin America, Australia, Europe, and North America. Not afraid of tackling abstract and intangible subject matter, Alejandro Avakian, inspired by Eastern spirits uses stone lithography to translate random forms, subtle moods, strong feelings, and deep emotions on paper.

"What matters most is to recover our senses. We must learn to see more, hear more, feel more... ," Avakian says, paying homage to the American essayist, novelist, and critic Susan Sontag.
