Alexandra Myatlova was born in 1976 in Birobidzhan, USSR, where she began studying art at a young age. She later earned a formal degree in Fine Art in her hometown, further refining her skills and deepening her artistic foundation.
In the late 1990s, she left Russia and met her future husband—an artist from Baku, Azerbaijan. Together, they continued their artistic journey, enriching each other's creative paths through collaboration and shared vision.
Over the years, Alexandra has developed a distinctive style rooted in oil on canvas, characterized by richly textured layers applied with a palette knife. Her process is intuitive yet deliberate; each painting takes months to dry as the paint is built up with depth, precision, and intention.
This tactile approach invites viewers to engage not only with the imagery but also with the physical presence and energy of the work itself. Her compositions seek to convey light, movement, and emotional resonance in every stroke.
While Alexandra's artistic voice is entirely her own, her work draws inspiration from the Impressionists—particularly Vincent van Gogh, whose emotional power and dynamic brushwork continue to inform her practice.
Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
