Pascal Girard

Born in 1964 in Pontoise in the Val d'Oise, Pascal is a self-taught painter and work in Perpignan.

Practice acrylic on canvas essentially.

"My painting is focused on the human being, the body and the portrait, and I seek through important (or not) deformations to go beyond the individual and psychological aspect of each one to try to find a certain generalization or universality.

It is not so much the inner search for being that interests me than how the influence of the outside world will shape it in the good sense as in the bad, so it would be more a political than a psychological dimension.

Construction and destruction, both literally (which will leave a visible trace on the canvas, for example) and figuratively, are also part of my pictorial research themes."
