Alain Derda

Born in Lorraine in 1956, he kept a love of nature and animals from a free childhood.

He started my activity as a sculptor more than ten years ago by working with lost wax. In his workshop, he then made glass paste and sculptures of small models.

His creations, his style

In 2012, wood replaced wax and models grew. Painted or natural, glued woods now soar in elegant shapes, lines always curved, taut and smooth, flirting with the imagination of art deco and the Roaring Twenties.

Goats, cats, panthers, herons, chickens… are my subjects, somewhat figurative, symbolic and above all refined.

His exhibitions

First exhibition produced with the collective “Artists in my garden" each year in Reims from 2014 to 2019.

In 2015, exhibition of large pieces in the Jean Thibierge living room in Reims.

Every year, from 2016 to 2020, in Saint-Maurice Sous les coasts, significant exhibitions on the occasion of the Côtes de Meuse Art Market.

In 2019, exhibition of works in various restaurants in Lille, Reims, Metz and Nancy.

He enjoys wielding mallet and chisel, rasps and brushes, in the intoxicating scent of the woods. He likes to guess, extract then stroke their hidden veins, reveal their unsuspected possibilities.
