Biography
Born in Milan in 1927, Tadini is a famous painter, sculptor and poet, creating throughout his career an original cultural mix between different disciplines. Umberto Eco said of Emilio Tadini that he is "a writer who paints, a painter who writes". His literary activity began in the late 40s, with the publication of essays, novels, poems and monologues.
The "painter" begins to produce in the '50s, in a completely autonomous style, and then switches to a realistic style, before discovering an art qualified as informal. He exposed his first works in the '60s, and took part in the Venice Biennale in 1978 and 1982.
The beginning of his artistic recognition came with his participation in the artistic collective Studio Marconi (Mario Schifano, Valerio Adami, Lucio Del Pezzo). Emilio Tadini was also a drama author, art and literature critic for the "Corriere della Sera" newspaper. In 2001, a retrospective of his work was organized in Milan. Emilio Tadini died in Milan in 2002.
