Claudio Parigi

Claudio Parigi, born in Florence in 1954, self-taught artist, has traveled all over the world. A canoe athlete in the 1970s, he participated in national competitions for the Florence club and for the navy in Sabaudia. In 1975 he obtained his dental technician diploma at the Enrico Fermi Institute in Perugia and his philosophy professor was Giovanni Romano Bacchin. In the late 1970s he studied medicine at the University of Bologna. In the 1980s, he began his activity as a conceptual artist alongside a literary activity, for which he published travel stories and collections of poems. Lately, his artistic feelings have found an outlet in the production of paintings whose themes and subjects are linked to contemporary and "conceptual" situations, where it is always man with his problems or historical situations that he must confront which are highlighted, perhaps in an ironic and very colorful form.
