Large Format Paintings for Sale
What do these masterpieces: Guernica (Picasso) and the Coronation of Napoleon (David) have in common? You probably have contemplated them, stunned, the first time you have seen them and will remember them for a long time. One of the reasons these paintings have put you in such a trance like state is that they have very large dimensions, if not monumental. With 27m2 for Picasso and more than 50m2 for David, they are what you call large-format painting. Try hanging them up in your living room! Thankfully, large-format painting can however have more modest dimensions without losing this esthetic bias that attracts the attention of the spectator. Artists have always known this, proportion is one of the major components of esthetic perception and an artwork with large dimensions drives a different approach from the spectator.
