Presentation
For 80 years, the French have benefited from paid holidays, the result of the law passed on June 20, 1936, which was one of the prominent initiatives of the Popular Front. To commemorate this anniversary, the review Art Absolument, on the initiative of the CIAT - Compagnie Internationale André Trigano - invites 36 artists to express themselves. 36 painters, designers and photographers have created an original work on a recycled tent canvas, in the same format (160 x 200 cm), winking at the collective imagination of this social and cultural breakthrough relating to leisure and on vacation. The exhibition “36/36, artists celebrate paid vacations” will be inaugurated in the symbolic place of the National Assembly in Paris, before embarking on a tour of France of holiday resorts: La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), Sens (Yonne), Gruissan (Aude), Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie) and La Ciotat (Bouches-du-Rhône). This event co-organized by Art Absolument and the CIAT will end at the Fête de l'Humanité, next September, during which the 36 works will be auctioned under the hammer of Antoine Godeau of the Maison Pierre Bergé & Partners, for the benefit of two charities - Secours populaire and Avenir social - to allow children to go on vacation.
