Barthelemy Toguo is a protean artist born in 1967 in Cameroon. He lives between Bandjoun, Paris and New York.
Not having any artistic limit, he practices drawing, sculpture, and does as well installations, videos and performances.
He started his studied at the School of Fine Arts of Abidjan in Cote d'Ivoire where he did a training that led him more towards sculpture before deciding to move to Grenoble. There he too some classes at the University, and discovered photography and video. He then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Düsseldorf.
A committed artist, his work has a political dimension. He is insterested in the current, of individuals as well as of merchandise. A multicultural artist, his work opens up to dialogue and altruism. He was appointed Knight of Arts and Letters by the French Republic.
All of his work is present all around the world, in some of the biggest museums such as the Center Pompidou in 2007, in fairs and biennales including at the Venice Biennale in 2011.
