Un infinito ricordo
Paris From July 9, 2021 to September 5, 2021
Presentation
An exhibition by Fabio de Santis is a journey inside his adventure, a black and white world that sweeps us away. A courageous and ambitious journey like an artistic odyssey that begins in Genoa and takes us through his experience in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles, Roujan and Pézenas. It was in 2006 that Fabio left Genoa; it is today, in 2021, that he really finds it. To describe Fabio de Santis is to be interested in the very essence of the word passion, first that of a teenager fascinated by the Renaissance and Italian classicism, then that of a young artist who was initiated into drawing and gradually allows himself to take on his first creations, first on cardboard, through the “Art Kills” project.
Between yesterday, today and tomorrow, Fabio de Santis illustrates this life of painting, an art that he conceives only to share it. It is for Genoa that the painter matured this project, his “Infinito Ricordo”. Throughout his investigation, the artist pays homage to his origins, his city, his illustrious Italian photographers. His painting originates from the real fact. Born in 1980, Fabio de Santis was strongly influenced by symbolism in his ability to draw a repertoire of images or postures that resonate with the collective unconscious. At the heart of our memory, his paintings bear witness to a time almost stopped, as if lost. In 2015, the artist changed medium and opened the chapter of his oils on wood, which the Palazzo Stella brings together today for the first and surely the last time. More than 50 pieces make up this exhibition, the 7 chapters of Fabio de Santis united in a single set.
