Presentation
The Géraldine Banier Gallery is pleased to present "Frontiers", an open window on the memorial journeys of Polat Tayir (Fulati Tayierjiang), a French artist of Chinese origin.

The exhibition is articulated around two series of the artist, who creates a permanent coming and going, between the visible and the invisible.

"Landscapes in the hand-glove". For three years, Polat Tayir has chosen a new medium to perpetuate the creations initially made on his hand: the glove. Not just any glove, a symbolic glove, the glove of a Yuan, commonly used in their daily lives by the Uighurs and worn by himself during his youth. Strong reminder both protection and memory of domestic life that the artist does not want to forget. Today it becomes a support of his artistic work, the extension of himself, the vector of his emotions, his visions and his sensations.

"The Silk Road", the latest series of oil paintings by Polat Tayir. Like a journey of initiation, Polat revisits the landscapes of his childhood, his encounters and memories of a territory that are familiar to him.

In Polat Tayir's works, the elements cross and mix, crossing the visible and invisible border. Moreover, they present the crossings between pictorial languages such as two-dimensional decoration and three-dimensional realism.

Through crossings of multi-dimensional pictorial languages, Polat delivers his truth in a pictorial and sensorial journey. He shares the heritage of his inner landscape to preserve his cultural roots, his distant memories within the Uyghur people and not to forget where he comes from.
