Geometric shapes, grids and shades in bright tones that seem to emerge from the canvas, contrasted with pictorial works that push in the direction of a graphic and stylistic research apparently far from inflexible compositional rules. These are the works that make up «Urbani» – collective of street artists from Lucania and Puglia: Nico Skolp, Krayon, Luca Bia and Sario De Nola, curated by Monica Palumbo, which was inaugurated on Saturday 16 December at 6pm, in the spaces of the Momart Gallery in Matera. On display are the works of the artists involved in the Streetart for School project promoted by the Province of Matera, with the artistic direction of Palumbo, started in Tursi and concluded in recent days in the city of Sassi. From the wall, to the small and medium format on paper and canvas, with works that allow us to explore the expressive potential of graphic design integrated with the figurative arts, in an intimate and close encounter that will lead the viewer to fully grasp the stylistic complexity of each work, result of a methodical study of the relationship between form, sign and space.
