Alto Contraste

Alto*Contraste, or just A*C, is the couple Lee and Lou. Born in Sao Paulo and involved in the underground scene that permeated the art school where they met, in 1996, they began to take to the streets with their stencils in 2005. Bringing references in common in various stages of life, references that become clear as they become the object of work, the work is based on psychology archetypes, investigating human relations in its pitoresque and paradoxical universe, often resulting in images that look like the Fantastic Realism outputs. Between the streets, the A*C has been in several collective exhibitions around the world in cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Glasgow, London, Melbourne and Paris. Also participated in major publications of urban art in the world and art festivals, especially the first edition of the Cans Festival (2008) in London, where the couple was invited by the artist Banksy.
