Isabelle Carbuccia

Born in Corsica in Bastia, I grew up in a universe where all forms of art were mixed, painting, music, photography, sewing. Also, I started as a teenager, to shape fashion accessories, from assemblies and cuts, attracting the attention of amateurs. A few years later, I created a line of clothing, marketed in Corsica and the Côte d'Azur.

But painting will quickly impose itself and in a fusional way, it is by drawing on my experience and my imagination that I express all my creative energy. Many influences favored the emergence of these memories, the Corsican origins of my paternal grandmother with her prayers so often repeated to ward off the evil eye and the marked affection of a maternal grandmother, cultured and refined. .

My work comes between abstraction and figuration, with colors chosen according to my emotions, events, encounters.

I like to play with materials and textures, especially by superimposing resin on gold leaf. My very colorful unstructured portraits are made on abstract backgrounds, mixtures of techniques borrowed from the aesthetics of the 50s and urban art.

In the same way, I paint vases and pottery, ethnic and colorful works, unique pieces, double-sided, different both in shape and style.
