Nicolas Marvel

At the age of twenty-two, Nicolas Marvel was forced to give up his dreams and projects because a tragic accident changed his life forever. A young Georgian with an extremely promising football career, suddenly found himself in a wheelchair. All his hopes and goals instantly collapsed, and depression set in. Nothing made sense anymore...

Living in a country with no future for him made the situation even more challenging. He decided to leave Georgia for France.

The time of adaptation in an entirely new country was an ordeal that he went through with difficulty, without any knowledge of the language or people. But he kept in mind that this country could offer him a future. France is certainly concerned about people with reduced mobility, and as a result puts in place all the means to facilitate their lives and allow them to be independent. This thought made him regain confidence in himself and his future.

Alone with his uncertainties, painful memories and fragile health, he began a new journey in a country whose language he did not speak. He tried drawing and painting to pass the time. It was then that he discovered his great passion for painting, an activity that allowed him to find happiness and meaning in his life. It helped him to forget his pain and integrate in the local society. This revelation was filled with new aspirations. He decided to deepen his knowledge of art and history of the great painters. This passion allowed him to find strength and hope to start with a clean slate, filled with emotions, eventually transforming his passion into profession. 

Since the very beginning, he has been practicing several styles by working with the matter, and today he creates his work using oil paint and a knife. We can observe on his canvases horizontally and vertically marked brushstrokes, accentuated by the essential role of lights and shadows. People and their spirit are his real source of inspiration. Through his works of art, the young artist Nicolas Marvel wishes to accomplish great things in France. Today, he is driven by big projects and a lot of will, with a deep desire to transmit a message to the world.
