Presentation

My artist name is Crann Piorr'Art. I have been a painter since 1989, I define myself first and foremost as a colourist as the choice of colors is essential in the design of my works. Very quickly, I launched into abstract painting because it allowed me to express my emotions without borders of code, limits and barriers. It is this freedom that pleases me. And if the technique is important, I prefer to let the emotion appear in my paintings rather than demonstrate any technical prowess.

My many trips to Africa, Asia or America have certainly influenced me in my painting and my color palette. But long before, I already had this attraction to bright, warm colors that I like to contrast with intense blues. I mainly use oil paint because it is the medium that suits me best, it is perhaps also because it is with this one that I acquired the technique during my lessons while first in Belgium in Dendermonde when I was living in Ghent at the time, then in the Beaux-Arts studio in the city of Paris when I moved to Paris intra muraux. So after these lessons, I started by painting figurative by representing the same imaginary city from different angles and by distorting its perspectives (under the Panic in the city collection, once I had acquired sufficient maturity and confident in myself, I did not hesitate to take the step towards abstract painting, while sometimes incorporating surrealist symbols.

My Stains & Prints collection started in 2013 on the principle of creating tasks embellished with human or animal prints has slowly evolved towards the representation of imaginary worlds in movement full of volutes, fluids and explosions. Then, wishing to free myself from the physical borders of the painting, I started to create triptychs or paintings on 3 dimensions. In my Colournoscopy project, I took this desire to the extreme by creating a polyptych with 12 paintings, the last painting of which is connected to the first. I also tried, through this collection, to link pictorial art with music.
