After studying cinema, Laurence Kourcia embarked on photography through portraiture and mainly photographed actors and entertainment people.

In 1989, the revolutions spread in the countries of the East, she then accompanied Pharmacien sans Frontière in Romania and produced her first report.

When she returned, she took part in a photojournalism internship and her first report on Ethnic Communities in France opened the doors to the prestigious Rapho Press Agency and gave her her first publication in the magazine "Actuel".

She then turned to personal work, where she dealt with long-term social issues, in an intimate way. She explores questions of identity, origin, difference and notably produces reports on the Jewish Community (in France, in Israel in the Maghreb), Adolescence, Fat, Young Farmers ... She also collaborates with the press national and international magazine (Télérama, Libé, Géo, le Pélerin, Fig Mag, L'Express, Der Spiegel, etc.) and responds to Corporate orders (Ministry of Agriculture, Altedia agency, etc.).

She regularly participates in group exhibitions, her work "Origine Séfarade" is exhibited at the Biarritz photo festivals and her subject on "Little Toros" screened at the Rencontres D'Arles.

In 2005, she decided to embark on a new adventure and gathered a team of photographers of which she became the agent.

In 2008, she co-founded the Jour et Nuit gallery, a contemporary web-gallery of photography. For 3 years, she participated as an expert in photography in the pre-selection of the Photo Prize of Carmignac Gestion.

In 2012, she developed the training space for Photo Courses and Workshops to transmit her passion to all image lovers.

Today, she happily resumes her cameras, which she liked to find regularly during her "Travel Diaries", and although her favorite subject remains the Human, it is perhaps more towards photography. poetic than social that it is now oriented.
