Canvases, easels, and bright colors are an indispensable part of his life. Born in 1949, maestro Mario Domenicale opens up his world to us, catapulting us into a space of completely new shades and profiles. But let's start from the beginning of this passion: "I graduated from the Art School of Fine Arts. In my adolescence, I began to see the first exhibitions. Inside me, the desire to deepen art immediately arose, to the point of becoming a passion ". As a painter, he creates his first works in the mid-sixties. His works have been exhibited in many pictorial reviews, some of which in the Borgogna palace in Vercelli. At the Soms headquarters in Stroppiana, he offers free lessons, where he lets his students "have fun, freely, according to their creative inclinations", and then set up exhibitions with their reproductions - the next "Art Collection" will be inaugurated on August 14 during the patronal feast. His first paintings used the technique of impressionism, bringing back landscapes and the concept of "natural beauty" to which we are used to seeing a Manet or a Renoir. Sunday manages to enchant the senses of the observer, with the ability to imprison a reality on the run, where the celestial blue pales and the features change continuously. Admiring this period of his, which lasted over 15 years, and having to define it with a word, that could be "glow". "Later - explains the master - I dedicated myself to modern art. Some cubist paintings by Picasso or Matisse's bright shades were revelations for me. So, I modified my subjects, trying to recreate those bright colors ”. In fact, in his paintings you can admire the sense of light and remain 'gripped by emotion', just contemplating a landscape of him. The sensations that you have, in front of these works, are interspersed, shuddering in the depths, and leaving the observers amazed. At the age of 50, he then turned to collages: "I have to admit: I was influenced by Picasso's still lifes and by the American Pop Art productions present at the Guggenheim in New York! The fact is that academic painting does not adapt to the times and to modern furnishings. If we think of the churches that have recently risen, such as the one we find in the Concordia district of Vercelli, we discover that even the architecture conforms to the modern side. With realism, we pass to the new ”. Wherever he goes, Domenicale brings a notepad with him to capture the essentials of each building that interests him, he does what for him are "sketches" and for fans of the sector they are mini-works of art. In short, it is a "particular" camera, which manages to convey the emotion of those who were not in the place of the drawing. , seizing, seizing, canvas after canvas, the flashes of what remains of the impregnable essentiality of creation.
