

Biography
During the Hitler occupation, he founded the Independent Theatre in Krakow (Teatr Niezaleny). In 1947, he stayed in Paris where he was the relay in Poland of French cultural life.
Tadeusz Kantor's greatest triumphs came with the premiere of The Dead Class (Umara klasa, 1975), a story about the fugitive and the permanent.
He died suddenly on December 8, 1990 in Cracow, after a rehearsal session. He is buried in Rakowicki Cemetery.
