Presentation

Born in 1969 in Schaffhausen in Switzerland, Christine Seiterle studied design, painting and drawing in different European countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Painter and illustrator since 1990, she lives and works between Switzerland and Paris.

Her travels in Norway, Italy, Canada and New York have influenced a lot her pictorial style. The artist inspires herself with her daily life to realize her artworks, in a figurative and narrative style. The citizens, her main subjects, are staged in their everyday life, with a grey or white background, which eliminates any idea of time or place. For more clearness she reduces her composition to the essential elements, creating a clear and direct message. Which allows the viewer to only focus on the behaviour and the movements of the characters.

Today her artworks are presented in public institutions as the Allerheiligen museum or the municipal museum of Schaffhausen. In 2019, the Allerheiligen museum hosted Christine Seiterle's exhibition ZeitRäume and published the catalogue with the same name.
