Mauren Brodbeck

Born in Geneva in 1974, Mauren Brodbeck has since her youngest years, been delivering an eclectic and multicolored body of work that questions ideas revolving around the "being" vs "appearance". At the tender age of 12, she began photography and this passion led her to discover cinema, design, singing, composition, dance, writing and fashion. Through the combination of these techniques and genres, she hopes to define man's place in the contemporary society and her relationship with the latter.

She doesn't have a favorite subject therefore addresses all the steps of our life and environment: teenage years, self-portraits, architecture or urban landscape.

Since her book "Œuvres photographiques 2004-2014" was published, she began a new creation phase where she plays around with sound and senses to get close with reality. Despite the years, Mauren Brodbeck continues to search the best means to express her personality and discover our society's true identity. Therefore, installation is an additional and important means in her quest, as it allows the public to participate and reveal themselves.

Her aim is to convey a message to the world, thereby making her art is simple and legible, like a declaration of love or a fairy tale.

Her art has been displayed all around the world through contemporary art fairs like Photo Miami, Paris Photo and Art Cologne. They are now part of private and public collections especially at the Elysée Museum in Lausanne, Vaudoise Insurance and Auer Photo Foundation.
