Born in 1982, Tarek Butayhi is a Syrian painter.

He depicts
the beauty of women through expressive use of colour and abstract features. His
portraits emanate intimacy, privacy, enigma and spontaneity. His dynamic
brushstrokes redefine femininity and symbolize the complexity and depth of the
female persona. 


Tarek studied visual arts at university in Damas. He developed a dynamic pictorial and colored style. His painting can be described a sspontaneous and expressive. Tarek Butayhi likes to play around with contrasting colors and stereotypes. The artist mainly addresses the theme of representing women and tries to give her a new reading.

His work was exhibited during several group and personal exhibitions in the Middle-East and Canada. He participated in two auctions in 2012 in Dubai and New-York. The collected funds were reserved to support education for Syrian children.
