Presentation

Susie Perring is a member of the prestigious 'Royal Society of British Artists', The RBA only accepts artwork from those who employ a sound knowledge and application of draughtsmanship as the basis of their work. Previous members of the RBA include Whistler, Lowry and Monet. The society was created on May 21st 1823, receiving royal recognition in 1887.

She attended the London College of Printing from 1963-1967. She then pursued a successful career as a graphic designer, working with a number of prestigious design groups.

In 1984, she returned to full time artistic work, specialising as a printmaker in etchings, line drawings and aquatints.

She works almost entirely in aquatint, creating tones on the printing plate rather than drawing lines.

Susie is drawn to quiet places in nature. Sunlit trees; reflections in ponds and deep water; wild creatures and plants; these are her subjects. Often, her work is imbued with a wry humour - in an animal's expression or a pun in the title.
