Biography

Kate Evans is a British artist. In 2002, she obtained her diploma in Art and Design from Falmouth College of Arts, and in 2006 she did a masters in illustration at the same college.

She creates drawings with delicate lines and watercolors on paper, placed against vast spaces of negative areas. Kate produces images which reflect the richness of their subject. In her recent « Wilderness Series », she painted deteriorated farms in remote regions of USA, Scandinavia and Europe. Her work creates a feeling of isolation and space, which depicts the wilderness of these places.

The process of marking and experimenting with colors is an important element for Kate. She works with various mixed medias: she uses a combination of watercolors, pencil and oil. This leads to various effects, as she plays around with the transparency of the medium to create deep and superposed images.
