Vangar (Ivan, b. 1983, Nizhnevartovsk) is a contemporary artist whose practice bridges the worlds of engineering, aesthetics, and fine art. Trained in jewelry craftsmanship and environmental design at the Demidov Academy of Arts, he brings a meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of form and space into his painting practice.
Fascinated since childhood by the beauty of automotive design, Ivan creates works that merge technical precision with artistic emotion. His paintings are not simple depictions of cars but visual dialogues with these mechanical icons — an exploration of their elegance, individuality, and the invisible energy that makes them timeless. Working in oil and mixed media, he renders the gleam of chrome, the curve of bodywork, and the spirit of speed with painstaking care, inviting viewers to see vehicles as moving sculptures and cultural artifacts.
Since 2022, Vangar has exhibited widely in Russia and abroad, with recent highlights including and at CONTRAST Gallery (Yekaterinburg), and (Yekaterinburg), (Greenwich), at Artspace International Exhibition Center (Moscow), and international group shows in Ankara (Canvas Gallery) and New Delhi (Festival “Word about the Russian Heart"). He has also held solo exhibitions at the UMMC Retro Museum in Pyshma and the ETS Classic Cars Museum in Yekaterinburg, where his paintings were presented alongside rare collectible automobiles.
In 2024, he became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Today, based in Yekaterinburg, Vangar continues to develop his distinctive artistic vision — transforming metal, motion, and memory into vibrant canvases that celebrate both engineering mastery and human imagination.
