Photographer, born in Colombia. His personal and artistic career is closely linked to the conflicts that have arisen and which still persist to this day in the country. In addition, it is strongly linked to the identity of the city of Medellin since it is developing a social photographic project with disadvantaged and stigmatized communities, with independent, private or public structures of the city.
In a general sense, he deals with subjects around the Mediterranean since he lives year round in Marseille, France. His work focuses on a social-cultural and environmental axis, while putting a "pop" touch to the world of travel, urban culture and youth. He also likes to put a scent of irony, mixed with a proven minimalism in his pictures.
Influenced by the painter Edward Hopper and the photographer Elliot Herwitt, he likes to re-appropriate the social subjects that make up our generation and deconstruct certain myths that the dictatorship of the image imposes on our collective thought.
Curated in 2019, by Klaus Fruchtnis, director of the photography department of the College Art of Paris to represent Colombian artists living in France as part of the [Tiempo] event of the Colombian consulate. He is also the grand winner of the OFF of the VISA pour l'Image festival in 2020.
His photographs travel the world, from Helsinki, Hamburg or Tangier, via Paris and Medellin.
