Originally from Congo, Moke Jr. was born in 1968. The eldest son of the great Congolese painter Moke, Moke Jr. adopted the name and the trait of the leader of popular Congolese painting.
With his caricatures, his canvases evoke daily life in Kinshasa, chaotic and colorful at the same time. Specialist in "kinoiseries", he seizes the small incidents and portraits the scenes of drivers fleeing police officers, young Kinoises dressed in thong, passangers of taxies and buses... The disputes gush but the final word takes precedence over concord and harmony, like his plastic work. The colors discord but manage to form a bouquet, a symbiosis, an alchemy.
Moke Jr. exhibits his work internationally, in Kinshasa, Brazzaville, In France and Belgium.
