When the artist was only 15, his high school arts teacher had already noticed his fine pencil lines and his incredible imagination.

His characters, the pandas, are often stylized, highlighted by strokes, arrows and other signs going in all directions, revolving around these fetish animals; he intends to suggest the movement and emphasize a certain the connection with the universe of comics.

Aurel depicts very particular impulses. His work is joyful, exhilarating but this sweet madness also hides an untold fear that we can guess from his characters' strange gazes. This cartoon-like representation creates a special universe, but one that is far from being childish or naive.

His work expresses a young adult’s lucid and non-complacent vision of his environment.
