Jan Ernst (born 1990 in Kroonstad, South Africa) is a multidisciplinary functional designer based in Cape Town, South Africa. Inspired by nature, Jan Ernst creates elegant and alluring ceramic objects that delicately balance form and function.
For him, ceramics is linked to exploration, experimentation and the search for balance in composition, structure and materiality. With a background in architecture, Jan Ernst mainly uses clay to give life to organic creations of great beauty.
