Juan Escudero is a Spanish artist whose work has been internationally recognised in recent years.
Biography
Having mastered the technique of engraving, Juan creates impressive pieces that begin with engraving on a copper plate and end with the process of stamping on different types of carefully selected paper.
His pieces evoke tranquillity and introspection to the gaze of the audience who become lost and mesmerised in his work as he hypnotised by his work while perceiving the intensity and power of the colours and beautiful gradients.
After graduating in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country with a specialisation in Painting, he left this discipline in 1993 to set up a company of 3D animation. During those years he received general training in Computer Graphics. Around 2007 he returned to Art through Drawing. In 2011 he made his his first engraving and in 2017 he dedicated himself completely to this art.
