Chanel

The legendary Parisian brand, founded by Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel, left a permanent mark on the fashion world. In a post-war world, the designer transformed the way women dressed by making simple and practical clothes fashionable, with shapes and colors borrowed from men's wardrobes - all in her characteristic refined luxury. After Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld took over the house (1983-2019), then Virginie Viard (2019-), and the name Chanel retains its international prestige to this day. But with such a status, the brand has not only influenced fashion: it also inspires artists, who appropriate its silhouettes, its black and white palette, its iconic figures - or even its logo with two intertwined Cs. In our selection of Chanel works, discover artworks by artists such as Franck Doat, Marion Duschletta or Longet, who each pay tribute to the brand in their own way.
