Art digital
L'art digital englobe toutes les créations artistiques réalisées à l'aide d'outils numériques. Les processus de création de ces œuvres sont d'une grande richesse. En général, les artistes utilisent différentes formes de logiciels, des dispositifs électroniques ou des ordinateurs. Une nuance importante : la technologie ne doit pas nécessairement être le seul outil utilisé pour qu'œuvre d'art soit considérée comme de l'art digital. Tant que son processus de création inclut un aspect technologique, alors l'œuvre appartient à cette catégorie.
Vous l'avez compris, ce genre artistique existe sous une grande variété de supports et de réalisations. Ainsi, les artistes digitaux exercent leur talent sur de multiples médiums, comme des peintures, illustrations, vidéos, photographies et animations digitales.
Avec l'essor des réseaux sociaux et plus récemment des NFT, les œuvres numériques sont plus que jamais sous le feu des projecteurs. Pourtant, cette forme d'art existait bien avant que les ordinateurs ne deviennent monnaie courante. Si l'on regarde l'histoire, les débuts de l'art digital remontent au début des années 1960. Le terme lui-même a évolué au sein de la communauté artistique tout au long du 20ème siècle. Les appellations « art informatique », « art multimédia » et « cyber-art » étaient couramment utilisées entre les années 1960 et 1990. Tout comme son titre, le médium s'est également adapté au fil des décennies. Avec l'arrivée du 21ème siècle et le boom des NFT, l'art numérique a pris une place considérable dans le marché de l'art.
Alors même que ce médium existe depuis plusieurs décennies, les critiques et les collectionneurs doutent parfois de sa légitimité. Les plus sceptiques affirment même que l'art digital peut être réalisé par n'importe qui ayant un ordinateur à sa disposition.
