Vues nocturnes
Nous sommes en 1942, et une peinture à l'huile sur toile est créée qui représente quatre personnes dans un restaurant du centre-ville, tard dans la nuit. Le spectateur les observe à travers la grande baie vitrée du restaurant. La seule source de lumière est le restaurant lui-même : le néon vibre au premier plan, éclairant le paysage urbain sombre et désert. Cette scène de rue nocturne d'Edward Hopper intitulée Nighthawks est devenue l'une des peintures les plus connues de l'art américain, et son sujet continue d'influencer l'art aujourd'hui. Lorsqu'on a demandé à l'artiste pourquoi il représentait la solitude, Hopper a répondu que les personnages de la scène n'étaient pas seuls, mais que la grande ville elle-même l'était. Les vues de nuit tendent à capturer l'expérience humaine lorsque la lumière du jour disparaît, avec moins de personnes dans les rues et un besoin de lumière artificielle pour se déplacer dans la ville. Dans la sélection d'œuvres d'Artsper, des artistes comme Logan Hicks ont la capacité de rendre de manière exceptionnelle la lumière nocturne dans leur travail, perdant en réalisme pour atteindre une dimension profondément poétique. D'une certaine manière, le paysage de la rue et son architecture à la tombée de la nuit peuvent sembler un monde entièrement différent de celui de la journée. Dans ses vues nocturnes en noir et blanc, Charly Desoubry capture ce sentiment - un changement dans la façon dont on perçoit son environnement vide de lumière et de couleurs. Peut-être que les vues de nuit ne sont pas un terreau pour la solitude, mais pour le calme : une pause dans l'agitation de la vie quotidienne…
