In October 2024, new unique pieces by Mr. Brainwash from the USA arrived at FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE. Including a unique copy of the coveted Beautiful Girl motif. FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE has represented the artist Mr. Brainwash, whose real name is Thierry Guetta, in German-speaking countries since 2012. After the auction record in London for a Banksy painting at Sothebys in London in 2019, street art is increasingly becoming the focus of collectors. Rapidly rising prices and high demand are therefore the result. Born Thierry Guetta in Garges-lès-Gonesse near Paris in 1966, Mr. Brainwash has lived in Los Angeles since the age of 15. The first "Life is Beautiful" exhibition took place in Los Angeles in 2008 and quickly became a crowd puller with more than 50,000 visitors. In 2009, Madonna commissioned Mr. Brainwash to design the "Celebration" album cover. The breakthrough came in 2010: Mr. Brainwash became famous through the multi-award-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop", in which he accompanied his friend and street art legend Banksy at work. This also brought him into the street art scene and he began to create art. From this point on, Mr. Brainwash was a phenomenon, a superstar who conquered the art world at record speed.
In February 2010, the second exhibition "Life Is Beautiful: Icons" opened in New York on 1,400 m2 and was sold out after just a few days. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in England, Germany, France and most recently in Seoul. A long interview has just been published in the Paris Match. FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE has organized numerous solo shows and exhibitions with Mr. Brainwash in the gallery spaces in Nuremberg and Kitzbühel since 2012. The exhibitions were repeatedly sold out in a short time. With stencils, stencil graffiti, screen prints and pop culture motifs similar to Warhol, the artist has brought urban art from the street into the living room and merged the two art movements. The surprising works mix bright colors in any combination with sometimes controversial content. All executed in mixed media with spray paint, painting and collage techniques and enriched with ironic allusions that often conceal a political and social message.
