Welcome to the season’s only exhibition of the IMAGO International Artist Residency – an exhibition culminating the three-month stay of three female artists from Ukraine and Armenia who spent the time in the village of Tsarimir near Plovdiv in creative enchantment, preserving their sense of confidence, free-thinking and creative perspective – Dariia Prokhorchuk (Ukraine), Katerina Rudakova (Ukraine), Mary Badalyan (Armenia).
Female artists with a completely different approach to creative activity, whose projects, however, are united by the desire for self-knowledge, the formation of a visual language and thematic lines that consciously and subconsciously lead to the study of personal emotionality, the sense of identity and belonging, the moral qualities that allow to endure and continue even in situations of powerful life turbulence.
You will find yourself in a visual environment combining paintings, works created from beads, as well as canvasес with strong sculptural sound. All of them filled with humaneness and an intense emotional charge.
The project “Artists at risk” was implemented with the financial support of the Union and the Goethe Institute under the program of Creative Europe – Culture Moves – Residency Action.
EU and the Goethe-Institut are not responsible for the views expressed in the publications and/or in conjunction with the activities for which the mobility support is used.
