Wilfried De Smet is a Belgian artist.

Wilfred De Smet thinks of himself as a mediator between reality and men. An artist is, according to him, someone who interprets the language of nature to other individuals, enabling them to learn about the world that surrounds them the best way possible. He opens their eyes, and puts to their disposal all the tools necessary to decipher reality. The artist must be objective, he is not only copying a work. His only talent is to perceive things the right way. His role is to not interfere with the course of elements.
Wilfried De Smet's work is dynamic, colorful and seems to be in relief. The use of wood allows him to create the illusion of a three dimensinal piece. The geometric shapes are associated in order to reach a puzzling visual effect.
