Biography
Irina Pandeva is a Bulgarian artist from a long line of icon painters (The Malers/ Молерови) and founders of the Bansko School of Arts.
She was 11 when her parents moved to Sofia.
In 2001, she obtained her art diploma under the aegis of the painter Nokola Angelakov.
In 2008, his personal situation led him to change paths.
It was in 2017 that she started painting again after returning to Bansko, where as a little girl, she loved to spend her time in her grandparents' workshop, fascinated by these luminous icons.
Reminiscences of this period are very present in his painting.
Although resolutely contemporary, these works oscillate between intimate figuration and symbolism.
His falsely naive works reveal an original and well-affirmed writing
She is an artist to follow.
