Biography
Donovan Rose (b. 1984, Sorrento, BC) is a Canadian artist living on Vancouver Island. Inspired by lived experience and classic cinema, his paintings explore themes of leisure, longing and our relationship with water. Donovan has exhibited ten solo showings in the last ten years. In 2018, his inaugural bather works (Bathers 1 & 2) were included in the group exhibition “Discovery" at Seymour Art Gallery. In 2020, his show “Souvenirs" sold out with Gallery Merrick Nanaimo. He has exhibited with Gallery Merrick since 2018 and is represented by Ashdale Gallery in North Vancouver and Gibson Fine Art in Calgary. His work is collected internationally.
