The body inspires me, and so does what inhabits it. Both revolted and amazed by the intermingling of beauty and ugliness in mankind. It never ceases to stir my desire to display it just the way it "slits my eyes". The disproportionate strength and sickly weakness in a man or woman, the luminous dreams stifled by his/her certainties, thus blocking all vision. Bruised by all their falls and sculpted by all their hopes, from opulence to lack, from muscular to bony, from soft curviness to hollow pain, the bodies of men and women betray, serve and  elevate them, always in a delicate and sinuous mixed way that must be discovered, just like the path that life has carved within by passing through them. If everyone does the best they can, then there is no beauty in us without ugliness, nor ugliness without beauty. I do not want to display the man body as a mere idea arranged by words, because there are only selected pieces that we do not know how to put together, that we no longer recognize and are no longer able to love. Do not cut a man or woman into pieces, take everything, see everything, embrace everything. Be silent around them and wait in the dark, let their bodies appear so that they can speak their own language - beyond words that are often too dazzling and too sharp.
