Biography
Damien Berrard is a self-taught French visual artist who went to Spain to perfect his painting technique with two masters of color and abstract expressionism. His unfailing creativity and exceptional gifts have earned him numerous accolades from his peers across the Iberian Peninsula. The creations of this fruitful period, both on a human and artistic level, reflect the inner beauty of the Mediterranean's sun-drenched seaside.
The artist, capable of expressing himself freely in disciplines as diverse as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, writing and even music, never lacks audacity to offer the public an art that is constantly renewed, powerful and original. But it is through his painted work that we find all the intensity of Berrard's verve, notably thanks to his dynamic knife strokes which, on the canvas, speak volumes about the energy deployed. As for his way of painting, which is anything but academic, since his hands often act as brushes, it reveals itself to be one of the originalities of his painting.
Often cited on social media and more generally on the internet internationally for his short philosophical sentences that resemble timeless quotes, his energetic painting, such as "action painting" and "abstract expressionism," is now at the center of attention in the world of visual art. Thanks to the quality of his "inventions," he was invited to create his own painting gallery in the medieval Château de Varennes-lès-Mâcon in Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
